April 10, 1950 - The construction began on the physical building, with Mr. Oscar Wiles hired as the contractor.
May 28, 1950 - The cornerstone was laid.
July 23, 1951 - Pastor C.T. Wetzstein received a peaceful dismissal to accept a call to Bethel Lutheran Church.
Redeemer’s Dedication: while originally our church was organized under the name ‘The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer’, it ceased to be known as such, and is now called ‘Redeemer Lutheran Church.’
September 16, 1951 - the church was dedicated. Festival Service of Dedication at 3:00 p.m.
March 2 1952 - Rev. Walter Rathke becomes Pastor at Redeemer.
Mar 31 1954 – the congregation grew to 80 voting members, 300 communicants, and 410 souls.
1955- Mrs. Esther Merklinger was hired as Redeemer’s organist and choir director.
August 1958 – July 1959 – Redeemer had its first vicar – Harold Patzer under the spiritual leadership of Rev. W. Rathke.
August 1959- July 1960 – Redeemer’s second vicar - Richard Lessman.
The 1960s:
August 1960 – July 1961- Redeemer had its third vicar - Vernon Thrienen under the spiritual leadership of Rev. W. Rathke.
October 1961 – Rev. Walter Rathke died suddenly at the age of 59.
1962 - the Rathke Bursary Fund was established to remember Rev. Rathke, and to support pastoral students.
March 2, 1962 - Rev. Luther Poellot was installed as Pastor. He served a brief two years until June 14, 1964.
May 11, 1964 - Redeemer sent a call to Rev. Gerald W.O. Scholz who was serving the Monkton/Logan congregation. He was married to a registered nurse and had four young children. He accepted the call and began to serve on August 9, 1964. He served faithfully until October 31, 1982 when he received a call to the East District Office.
