Biography of our pastor.


 

Rev. Robert Casey Krestick  BA M Div.

 

Rev. Krestick was born in Windsor Ontario on July 6, 1946 to Ann Krestick (nee Fabok) and Walter.  He is the oldest of six children.  He was baptized, confirmed, and ordained at First Lutheran Church in Windsor.  He graduated from Michigan Lutheran College Detroit.  He received a Master of Divinity from Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary.  He was married to Mary Elizabeth McCallum (known as Elizabeth) on November 26, 1971.  He served his vicarage internship at Peace Lutheran Church, Spruce Grove and St. John’s Lutheran Church, Beach Corner Alberta.  He was ordained into the Holy Ministry on June 23, 1974 and was installed as Pastor of Trinity, Gowanstown and St. John’s Mount Forest the next week.  In August of 1978 he accepted the call to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Port Colborne, Ontario and served there for 12 years.  In August of 1990 he was installed as Chaplain and Volunteer Co-ordinator at Lutherwood/CODA.  Since then he has also served as the Co-ordinator of the Lutherwood Family Life Institute and has been the Chaplain at Luther Village on the Park since it was built.

 

Robert and Elizabeth have been blessed with three children. Lisa Marie was born in Stony Plain Alberta and is married to Andrew Jackson. They have two sons Benjamin Daniel and Jacob Robert. Andrew Michael was born in Listowel, Ontario and is married to Jennifer. They have twin children Thomas Casey and Isla Sophie. Lydia was born in Welland Ontario and is married to Dr. Stephen Fischer. Elizabeth is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Niagara University, New York and a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Western Ontario, London. She is Senior Manager, Quality & Performance, Planning and Performance Management, Waterloo Wellington Community Care Access Centre.

Rev. Krestick has served the church in our district as Director of Student Aid, Mission Department Member, Interim Director of the Task Force on Restructuring, District Secretary, and Second Vice President, District Lutheran Layman’s League Pastoral adviser, first Board of Managers of Lutheran Church-Canada Workers Benefit Plans and Chairman of the K-W Lutheran School Society and was Vice President of Lutheran Church-Canada from 2002 – 2011, he is currently Chairman of the Board of Regents of Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary, St. Catharines , Ontario, and serves on the Board of Governors of Lutherwood, Waterloo, Ontario
He has served as Redeemer’s Pastor since October of 2000.
