Sometimes when I sit down to write these things for you to read I wonder how many people are going to read to the end. Two people I know for sure will read it - my wife and my mother. But I pray Almighty God that more will read all the pages of this monthly collection of Epistles, news, anecdotes, cartoons etc….and find out what is going on. In preparing a sermon I read the following quote: "God has given His people all the spiritual and material resources required to get the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ to all the people in the world, in our lifetime."

Now that is a heavy statement. The key words have to be "God has given…" Can you argue with it? I would like to see you try. No part of that statement can be disproved from within the Holy Scriptures. From His Word we learn that God possesses all, and that He gives all that is needed to His people. For we are His people when we know that God is calling us to give. When the Lord calls us to work and give He wants us to give from His resources not ours. You can count on this! What ever God asks for or requires He first supplies. This not only includes the resources to get the job done but also the time, ability and power that we need. Sometimes people get discouraged with God's call to action through His church because they don't like the way things are being done. They want to do things their own way in what they see as a profitable, understandable down-to-earth method.

But, the more we work for Him, the more we find out that it's unprofitable to do it our way - it is profitable to do it His way.

I know for sure that this makes no earthly sense. But our God is not an earthly God. Our God made and possesses all the earth. Does all this bother you? Do you doubt that giving God more with real effort of everything you are and hold is the answer to the problems of life and its sin?

Dear one, if you are in doubt - give! Smack the old Adam in the mouth and say "I'm gonna give!" Dump your guilt over past and daily sin. Because of Jesus Christ and His death and life, God the Father sees no guilt.

We seem to go around with guilt pulling us down. We think that we have the greatest problems in the world. We doubt that God can help in our situation. God will not let your situation make a liar out of Him, just believe in Him.

You may feel that you are digging away at a mountain that will never disappear. One day that mountain will crumble. You will wonder what happened. God is digging away at the back side and almost all of it is gone already. Have faith to operate like a Christian day by day. You are a Christian. You are an heir of the heavenly kingdom. Live like a true heir. The heirs of Christ never poor mouth the church. How can you poor mouth something that is so rich without being a liar?

Love God and do good. Christians - - real Christians - love to do good works. We do good works, not in order to become a Christian, but because God has made us in Christ Jesus and doing and giving flow out of us. God has given us a lot. God has given us everything we need. God expects the job to be done. You are the one to do the job. Take these words of mine to heart. Don't let the enemy get you. You have the resources to win! Jesus lives and the victory is won. Give of yourself and don't stop. Keep giving and find out what fun it is sacrifice. Enjoy the ride. We know where we are going. No question about that.
